Granny Sue Trifle

A family christmas tradition - can only be served in the famed trifle bowl!

Ingredients

  • Two swiss rolls with jam in the roll
  • Red, yellow and green jelly
  • 1L confectioners custard
  • Sherry (if using)
  • Whipping cream
  • Glace cherries
  • Flaked almonds, toasted

Method

  1. Make the 3 jelly's and put into the fridge to set overnight
  2. Soak the swiss roles in sherry to taste
  3. Layer swiss roll, jelly and custard into 3 layers in the trifle bowl
  4. Add whipped cream to the top layer and sprinkle with glace cherries and toasted flaked almonds (and maybe even chocolate sprinkles!)
